Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a time between timezones?
Open the Convert tab, set the date and time, choose the source timezone and add any number of target zones. Daylight saving time is handled automatically using your browser's IANA timezone database.
What is Unix epoch time?
Unix epoch time is the number of seconds elapsed since 1 January 1970, 00:00 UTC. Paste any timestamp into the Epoch tab — seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds are detected automatically and converted to human-readable dates.
How do I create a Discord timestamp?
Pick a date, time and timezone on the Formats tab and copy the generated Discord tags. Discord renders them in each reader's local timezone automatically.
How do I find a meeting time that works across timezones?
The Planner tab shows a 24-hour grid for every timezone you add, with each hour colored by how comfortable it is locally — working hours, early/late, or night. Click a column to get the exact time in every zone.
Is ThisTimezone free?
Yes. ThisTimezone is completely free, requires no signup, and the converter tools run entirely in your browser. It also works offline as an installable web app.
Where does the timezone data come from?
All timezone math uses your browser's built-in IANA timezone database through the Intl API, so offsets and daylight saving rules stay current with your browser updates.
